In 1965, when it was founded by Lloyd J. Kirtland, DKŪ Trading Corporation began operation as a paper broker, buying and selling paper stock in the Northeastern US.
In 1969, David L. Kirtland entered the business, and increased the scope of business to include all types of paper products. Handling about 4,000 tons per month of paper, DKŪ Trading recognized a potential for increased business and entered the international market by opening an office in Toronto, Ontario in 1980, followed in 1990 by additional offices in E. Longmeadow followed by Duxbury, Massachusetts. Today, handling in excess of 30,000 tons per month of all types of paper, DKŪ Trading Corporation, Inc. is one of the leading paper brokers in the United States. Buying and selling everything from prime paper in Quebec City, Canada to paper in Milan, Italy, DKŪ Trading remains one of the most professional names in the paper industry.
